Creating a documentary is a lot like planting a little seedling. You do not know how it will grow until it does. We never expected the documentary to take in the direction it has! We’re STOKED.

At the beginning we only thought locally, but the story has grown far beyond San Diego - and even California. We’ve learned that to grasp the full picture we need to take our film to different cultures. So far we’re traveling to Hawaii and Iceland. Why? In California where surfing is still pretty new culturally. Surfing exploded in the west coast in the 50’s, where as in Hawaii, Surfing has been well established in the native culture for generations. And so has the women’s place in the water. Then there’s Iceland, seemingly one of the final frontiers of surfing. How do women thrive when there’s very little competition? We want to know.

Hello!

Welcome to the blog, we want keep everyone updated with what we’re up to/ our progress/ things that just interest us.

Right now we are completing our first round of filming in San Diego County; Hitting Ocean Beach, La Jolla, Encinitas, and more! We’re stoked with the women we’ve met so far and what they have shared with us about their experience in the recreational line up. We’re excited to share these stories with you!
